Welcome to the Career Transition Partnership’s programme of support for unemployed Reservists. Here is a summary of the services and resources that are available to you during the trial.
Career Consultant Interview
A one-to-one career guidance session, with advice and information on:
- Self-analysis
- Feedback and advice on developing and tailoring a CV and application forms
- Help with developing a Personal Employment Plan(PEP) including an Action Plan (see below)
- Networking and social media
- Job search skills
- Job applications
- Interview techniques
- Signposting to further sources of information, including the Army Skills Offer regarding payment for civilian accreditation of specific military training courses
The above will be delivered via face-to-face, email, telephone or video conferencing, depending on your needs and situation.

Development of a Personal Employment Plan (PEP)
- The PEP records goals and actions, skills acquisition, barriers, contacts and milestone dates

- “Focus” monthly e-newsletter - latest news from CTP including employer recruitment programmes, new events and courses

- Industry Sector Guides covering 20 different industries

Job Finding Support
- Access to RightJob, a job board developed for the CTP, to search and apply for vacancies provided by employers who value the skills and experience that military service develops

Employment Events
A comprehensive programme of employment events is scheduled throughout the year and across the whole of the UK. These include:

Regional Employment fairs, held at large external venues, with circa 60 stands manned by employers, employer organisations, and support agencies, and capable of accommodating up to 500 attendees
- Company open days – held at an employer’s venue, involving presentations and a tour for invited Reservists
- Live chat events with employers on the Employer Directory on the CTP website
