How to Book a CTP Training Course

Before submitting your application to attend a CTP vocational training course online via JPA, you must first ring the CBIC to check availability and obtain a provisional place:

Step 1

Please contact the Course Booking and Information Centre (CBIC) directly to check whether there are places available for your chosen dates (you do not need to contact the centre where the course is taking place). Once dates are agreed, the CBIC will make a provisional booking for you.

Civilian Phone: 02894 456 200
Military Phone: 9491 56 200
Email: [email protected]

The CBIC is open Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 17:30

Please note: Should your training course be offered through one of our accredited Preferred Suppliers, then please just contact the training provider direct to book.

Step 2

You need to obtain authorisation from your Service Resettlement Adviser (SRA) and Commanding Officer. You do this by submitting an application for absence to attend a resettlement activity using JPA.

Step 3

Once authorised, your JPA request will be pushed through to the CBIC (normally within the next working day) and if payment is required for your course, this should be made prior to attending.

Once your booking is confirmed, joining instructions will be sent out 10 weeks before the start of the course.

Notes:

  • The CBIC needs to receive your JPA request within 28 days of your provisional booking or your provisional place will be cancelled.
  • If course dates are changed, submission of a new JPA application will be required.
  • Please ensure you read the appropriate JPA Resettlement Guides available via the JPA Portal, or ask your Service Resettlement Advisor if you need further assistance.

You can use a Standby place on CF courses when you have used up all your GRT. You will be put on a Standby list and notified 10 days prior to the course start date if a place becomes available. Standby charges are £26.70 per day (from 1st July 2015), payable on the first day of the course. Remember, there are no guaranteed places with a Standby booking.

How to Book Core Workshops, Follow on Workshops and Briefings

Step 1

If you wish to book any of our workshops, follow on workshops or briefings and are calling from a civilian line, please call 0203 162 4410 *.

Alternatively, if you are calling from a military line, please contact or email the Regional Resettlement Centre (RRC) running the event to check the availability of places on dates that are convenient to you. (This is normally the RRC that you are registered with for your resettlement and contact details can be found here). Once dates are agreed, a provisional booking will be made for you.

Note: It is important that you do this before submitting your request on JPA to ensure there is availability first.

Step 2

You need to obtain authorisation from your Service Resettlement Adviser (SRA) and Commanding Officer. You do this by submitting an ‘Application for Absence to Attend a Resettlement Activity’ using JPA.

Step 3

Once authorised, your JPA request will be pushed through to your RRC (normally by the next working day) and your booking will be confirmed and joining instructions will be sent to you.

* Don’t worry, this is not a premium rate number and you should only be charged at the normal national rate, dependent on your phone provider.
