How do I book a Career Transition Workshop?
If you wish to book any of our workshops and are calling from a civilian line, please call 0203 162 4410 *.

Alternatively, if you are calling from a military line, please contact the Regional Resettlement Centre (RRC) running the workshop to check availability. (This is normally the RRC that you are registered with for your resettlement and contact details can be found here). Once dates are agreed, a provisional booking will be made for you.

* Don’t worry, this is not a premium rate number and you should only be charged at the normal national rate, dependent on your phone provider.
What can a Career Transition Workshop (CTW) do for me?
At the CTW you will meet a CTP facilitator, who will show you how to market yourself to potential employers, which involves a lot more than just sending out your CV. Our Trainers will also help you to develop the job search skills that are needed for a successful career transition.

Following the workshop, you will also have the opportunity to discuss your individual plans with a Consultant, who will assist you to develop a Personal Resettlement Plan, and provide essential support throughout your resettlement process.
If I already have a job to go to, is there any point in attending a CTW?

Definitely. The purpose of the CTW is not simply to help you find a job but to understand the job market so thoroughly that you can navigate your way through it for subsequent jobs. The employment market can change rapidly so you may wish to get another job at some point. Everything you learn on a CTW will be of use in the future.

What will I get from a CTW?
In simple terms, it will enable you to identify your skills, help you to prepare a good CV, teach you about job searching skills and show you how to shine at interviews.
When should I attend a CTW?
This does depend on individual circumstances, but the vast majority of our clients wish that they had been to their CTW earlier. The networking side of job search takes a long time, but can be the most effective route into work. So aim to come on the CTW with at least a year still to serve, if possible.
What’s the difference between a Workshop and a Training Course?
Workshops are usually short – for instance the three-day Career Transition Workshop or the two-day Business Start Up Workshop – and take place at Regional Resettlement Centres (RRCs). They are also delivered at satellite locations to reach those who are based at more remote locations.

CTP vocational training courses are longer, lasting from 1 week up to 6 weeks. Training courses are delivered at the Resettlement Training Centre (RTC) in Aldershot and at Regional Resettlement Centres. They are also offered by accredited Preferred Suppliers (external training providers that have been vetted by us).
Will the CTW help me to choose a career?
Indirectly, it will. By analysing your skills, interests and abilities, you will be in a far better position to work with your Career Consultant to determine a career path which is based on positive choice rather than simply taking anything for the sake of an income.
