Life After Leaving the UK’s Armed Forces
An article published by the MoD highlights the wide range of support available for redundees through the CTP.

It is recognised that the transition from the military to the civilian world of work can be a daunting process for some and the article stresses the great amount of support available to Service leavers. Over 20,000 personnel leave the Armed Forces each year, and to date, the CTP has helped over 170,000 in the process, through courses, workshops, guidance and advice.

The article also features the stories of Service leavers who left the Armed Forces as part of Tranche 1 of the Strategic Defence Review (SDR), and have recently completed their resettlement: Sarah Murnane was a voluntary redundee looking for a more stable family life, and now works as a teacher, whilst David Sargent explored various options upon being made redundant before deciding to pursue a career as a School Business Manager. Both are now well settled in their civilian careers, having taken full advantage of the support on offer from the CTP.

The article highlights how life after active service has the potential to open new doors and present new opportunities that personnel may not initially have expected.
