AFF Families’ Conference 2012
The CTP was proud to sponsor the recent AFF (Army Families Federation) 30th Annual Conference, which took place on 20th September in London.

The AFF is the independent voice of Army families and works hard to improve the quality of life for Army families worldwide on any aspect that is affected by the Army lifestyle. The AFF aims to provide support on any issue, working at a local level directly with families and local command, and also provides a signposting service to help clients find the right person to speak to.

The 30th annual conference received record levels of attendance and the day was packed with interesting debates covering a variety of major issues that affect the lives of Army families, including housing, redundancy and pensions.

The day gave families the opportunity to put their questions to the Adjutant General, as well as to the new Minister for Defence Personnel, Welfare and Veterans, Rt Hon Mark Francois. Over 90 questions were put to the panel throughout the day, and answers to all will be available on the AFF website shortly. Topics covered included school places, retirement, allowances and support for the TA, and sparked a number of fascinating debates.

Representatives from the CTP, along with other welfare and service support organisations, were on hand to provide advice and information on all aspects of resettlement, and the event was also attended by the Military Wives Choir Foundation, who received the AFF Community Award, recognising the ‘outstanding achievement of this worldwide foundation in drawing the community together’.
