Road Haulage Vocational Training

Category: Training Publish date: 03/04/2024

Road Haulage Vocational Training This course is ideal for anyone looking to build a career in road haulage transport management.

All transport companies must employ at least one ‘professionally competent’ person, with most larger companies in the transport sector having up to 10 CPC holders within the organisation. Ideally, any newcomer to the transport industry will hold a CPC, especially those who wish to develop their career into management roles.

Our 12-day non-contract funded course is great for anyone interested in, or with some experience of working in road haulage. You’ll need to be numerate and literate to at least a level 2, as this will help you with the heavy mathematical content, as well as all legal and business content.

What’s covered in the course

  • Civil law
  • Commercial law
  • Social law
  • Fiscal law
  • Access to the market
  • Technical standards and technical aspects of operation
  • Road safety

On completion of this course, you’ll gain a CILT Level 3 Certificate of Professional Competence for Transport Managers (road haulage). This highly regarded qualification will entitle you to lawfully run and operate transport for hire. For details on the requirements to be a Transport Manager, see the Gov.uk website.
Some finer details

Training is delivered at RTC Aldershot and ELCAS funding may be used. You can find out more about the course on our website.

Examinations are usually on the final day of the course and consist of multiple-choice questions and a case study. Those who attend the CPC Transport Managers course will be given a one-year e-membership to CILT, which carries a range of benefits.
