Course Content

The MoD are strong advocates in supporting you to ensure your finances are in good shape as you leave the services. Financial advice is provided via a blended programme which provides a flexible option of attending either online or face-to-face Financial Aspects of Resettlement (FAR) briefings. The MoD uses the Forces Pension Society (FPS) and Lester Brunt Wealth Management Ltd (LBWM), an appointed representative of St. James’s Place Wealth Management PLC, who are a firm of restricted financial advisers, with CTP providing administrative support.

The FAR programme is split in two parts: a comprehensive pension brief provided by FPS that aims to help Service personnel better understand their Armed Forces Pension and this is followed by a financial advice presentation from LBWM. Partners are also welcome to attend.

Pension topics covered include:

An overview of each pension scheme
Medical awards
Commutation
Pen Form 1 completion and more

The financial awareness presentation will cover:

All aspects of financial planning
Give ample time for questions
All consultations are without obligation

The whole briefing is scheduled to last approximately 4.5 hours, with a short break in-between the two presentations.
