Aim of Course 
This is an exciting opportunity to gain elite Master Personal Trainer qualifications leading to career opportunities either exclusively in the fitness world or in combination with Health Authorities working with special populations.

Course Content 

This course can be completed as a six week full-time course (Mon–Fri 9-5) or as blended learning incorporating attended practical sessions alongside on-line home study over an extended period. Most CTP students choose the 6 week block.

Master Personal Trainer with choice of master module specialism. 6 weeks to complete the course:

  • Gym Instructor (Level 2) - 8 days
  • Personal Trainer (Level 3) - 17 days
  • CPD week - 5 days

(typical CPD options: First Aid, Sports Nutrition, Indoor Cycling, Mixed Martial Arts, Circuit Training, Kettlebells, with more options subject to venue).

Master course will be bolted on top of your PT course.

You can select from:

  • GP Exercise Referral Level 3
  • Strength and Conditioning Level 3
  • Pre and Post Natal Course Level 3
  • Pilates Instructor (Mat based) Level 3.

Please note: The 6 week block training is available at 3 venues (London, Manchester and Birmingham) whilst the blended learning (part- time) is available at more venues. However not all options are available at all venues and please check with Discovery Learning.

Fitness Career Consultation 
On enquiring about this course all Service Personnel are encouraged to access the exclusive Fitness Career Consultation from one of Discovery Learning’s dedicated careers advisors. The purpose of this call is to establish your ultimate career ambitions and areas of fitness or specialisms that you may wish to pursue.

They will explain what the employment options are (Everyone Active and Virgin Active self-employed career offers) and they will discuss what your ideal job looks like – from this you can establish what will be the right ‘course mix’ to achieve all of the above.

The advisor will support you in developing a personal employment plan as well as guide you through your options and routes into employment. Finally they will be a point of contact for any further questions about the course or your career development.



Qualifications Awarded 
All courses are accredited by Central YMCA Qualifications (CYQ) and are internationally recognised. Personal Trainer, Strength and Sports Conditioning, Exercise Referral, Pre and Post-natal course and Pilates are at Level 3. You will be eligible for Level 3 Status on the National Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs).

Employment Opportunities 
Level 3 Personal Trainer (PT) is seen as the entry route into the industry and employers are increasingly looking to their PTs to be highly skilled specialist deliverers with expertise beyond personal training. The Master PT course meets this need.

Once qualified as a Master Personal Trainer you will have a number of employment options open to you and you are also able to progress onto further specialisms, such as the clinical courses including Obesity and Diabetes Management at Level 4, or perhaps sports massage which you can study at both Level 3 and Level 4.

Opportunities exist in health clubs, leisure centres, working with special populations as well as self-employed in your own business.



Course Duration 
6 weeks (GYM + PT) + 5x one day CPD courses + Master course.
This course is run in association with Discovery Learning.

Every effort will be made to give the Service leaver as much notice as possible and a reasonable course alternative or alternatives may be suggested, if possible. If this is not possible or the alternative(s) is/are not acceptable to the Service leaver, Right Management, who deliver all non-contract courses listed, may refund in full the total amount paid to date for non-contract funded courses, or, in the case of MOD Contract Funded courses, in agreement with the MOD, the Service leavers IRTC grant will not be notionally reduced.
