Aim of the Course 
This course aims to provide a valuable management tool for those moving into junior and middle management procurement roles or those supervising the procurement function.  It focuses on organisational procedures and processes including negotiation, planning, risk management and data analysis.  Successful candidates will achieve a Level 4 Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.

Course Content 
The course will be delivered over a period of 18 days; 15 days course content delivery followed by examinations taking place over 3 days at the end.  The following units of study will be covered:
  • Contexts
  • Business needs
  • Sourcing
  • Negotiating and contracting
  • Managing contracts and relationships.
Each unit will be assessed by examination (5 in total) and a period of 3 hours per exam will be permitted.  Examination dates are set by the awarding body and will follow on directly at the end of each course.

Qualifications Awarded 
CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply.

Candidates will also be registered as Affiliate Members of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.  Full membership can only be achieved at a further cost to the individual and will depend on further professional development and/or proof of commercial competence and experience.  

Please note: Full membership is not available through completion of this qualification on its own.
