From Sergeant to Maintenance Supervisor Paul Serplus is an ex-Sergeant who served with 7 Parachute Regiment Royal Horse Artillery. Paul Joined Smart Fleet Solutions in May 2016 initially as a Maintenance Operative at Smart Fleet Solution’s Long Bennington site. Paul’s role as Maintenance Operative meant he was responsible for the upkeep of the Long Bennington site. His role involved tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing and general electrical work.

In October 2018 Paul was promoted to the position of Maintenance Supervisor. Paul shares: “In my role as Maintenance Supervisor, I’m responsible for all aspects of maintenance on all four Smart Fleet Solutions sites and have five maintenance technicians in my charge. I liaise with the technicians daily but also visit each site at least once a month to offer guidance and assistance where needed, and to carry out Health and Safety audits. I also have involvement in any projects the business undertakes.

“During my time with Smart Fleet Solutions I have attended numerous courses that have allowed me to gain further knowledge and experience related to my field of work. With the support of the business I have attended courses such: COSSH & Risk Assessment, Inspection and Servicing of Electrical equipment and Abrasive Wheels Training to name a few. During my time with Smart Fleet I have found that the business is committed to its employees and will offer and support with training and development opportunities.”
