The Trade Centre Group is the largest independent used car supermarket group in the UK. We operate 4 large-scale ‘Trade Centre UK’ stores in England (Wednesbury, Coventry, Rochdale, Rotherham) and 2 ‘Trade Centre Wales’ stores in Neath and Cardiff North.
With 2021 being a challenging period for everyone we ended the year successfully. We sold well over 25,000 Cars across our busy outlets, exceeding expectations in these uncertain times; a great result all round and a testament to the teams we currently have in place across the group.
Since our last newsletter we’ve been working hard behind the scenes on our growth plans for 2022, with 2 new sites on the horizon, pencilled in for both Q2 and then Q4 of this year. These 2 new sites will be based in the Midlands Region, with recruitment starting in March for the first location – where we hope to offer the region 140+ quality jobs across 2022.
We’re excited about achieving success in 2022, and are on track for a bumper month - selling in excess of 1000 cars per week already this year. So it’s safe to say we’ve started with a BANG!
Our Vehicle Preparation Facilities are growing their successful apprenticeship programmes, with over 30 apprentices brought into the business in both South Wales and England since April. Six more apprentices have joined our Wednesbury Workshop already this year and we’ve recently began to open the apprenticeship programme to our Rochdale & Rotherham locations in the hope of extending our successful programme across the group.
TCG launched a new car-buying initiative ‘We Pay More For Any Car’, a facility to purchase vehicles directly from the public. This has created an additional 14 roles within the business and we’re on track to employ another 14 over the coming months. This new concept is currently based at our Wednesbury, Coventry & Rochdale outlets, but we’re on course to launch in Rotherham next month and our two South Wales sites by the end of Q2.
So as you can see, its fast-paced at the Trade Centre Group, and we’re currently in a period of expansion that will see more sites arriving in 2023 and beyond.
