Engineering The largest team at DE&S and plays a key role in enabling the delivery and support of our equipment by providing specialised expertise in sensors; electrical power and distribution; software; human factors integration; product safety; quality; science; and systems and integration engineering.

Project Delivery Involved in all phases of every project and responsible for some of the most complex and exciting projects in UK defence; offering fantastic variety with the support to shape and grow your career. Roles include project management, scheduling, cost control and more

Operational Delivery Responsible for the management and delivery of in-service support, covering a breadth of disciplines that are important to sustaining military capability in our Armed Forces. These include supply, operations management, integrated logistics support, storekeeping, and more.

Commercial The Ministry of Defence is the UK manufacturing industry’s biggest customer, and our Commercial team handles all our purchasing and contract management activities. This involves anything from servicing ships and purchasing medical supplies, to procuring first-of-its-kind tech for the UK military.

Corporate Services Corporate Services is represented in every project undertaken and every area of the defence procurement and maintenance chain, helping our organisation to operate effectively. Roles available include: business support; sales and disposals; security and resilience; policy; strategy and parliamentary; quality management; and occupational health, safety and environment.

IM&IT Our Information Management and IT team’s mission is to enable and drive DE&S towards becoming a world-class digital organisation. The IM&IT team is a centre of excellence, delivering a trusted service and innovative solutions. Specialisms include MI and data analytics; IT development; apps and AI; information management and assurance; and more.

HR Human Resources supports the organisation on people matters and provides consistent people management processes, policies, tools, and frameworks for this specialist organisation. We have a variety of HR roles on offer at all levels, including recruitment; learning and talent; policy; business partnering; performance management; and reward.

Finance & Accounting Our Finance and Accounting (F&A) team prides itself on accuracy and efficiency, harnessing expertise and sound judgement at every step. They track and provide the right financial information to support effective decision making across our organisation – to ensure they’re securing the best value for the taxpayer. Key hiring areas in this team include financial accounting, management accounting and finance advisory.

Our Military Transition Scheme (MTS) is designed to remove barriers to employment for those leaving the military. You can join us on a 23-month paid contract, taking on a role that is suited to your skill sets acquired during your time in service. Throughout the scheme, we’ll support you to bridge any gaps in your CV and prepare for interviews, and when a suitable permanent role becomes available, we’ll help you apply. This can be during or at the end of your fixed-term contract – whenever you feel ready.
