Vigilance is a national security company that offers a range of high-quality security services across the UK, including our unique NSI Gold accredited Security in Residence Service. We have been operating since 2008, utilising a large cohort of ex-military personnel in both the management and front-line teams. The majority of our ex-military personnel previously served with the various Gurkha Regiments; however, we draw from all service branches of the Armed Forces.
Information about current/future job vacancies
Vigilance continues to grow at a rapid rate, and so in order to meet our customer requirements we’re in constant need of high-quality personnel in our management and front-line teams; including our conventional guarding, Security in Residence Service and Close Protection disciplines. As Security in Residence Officers, you’ll need the ability to live at that specific assignment location. These currently include grade 1 listed estates, former monasteries and hotels. This type of employment would be very suitable for soldiers without accommodation or those looking to work whilst studying, as your actual duties are very minimal.
In terms of skills and qualities, we believe in the ethos that the military has already instilled in you. Vigilance’s mission is always to uphold four key pillars of service across all its operational divisions: ‘Security with Integrity’, ‘Military Professionalism’, ‘Ethical Values’ and ‘Proud to Protect’. And the only qualification you’ll require is an SIA licence.

Case Studies
Gagan Thapa has worked for Vigilance since June 2014 after leaving the Queen’s Gurkha Signals following 22 years as a Staff Sergeant. Gagan began working for Vigilance as a Resources Executive and Manager and quickly rose to Head of Delivery, overseeing a number of other ex-military personnel on conducting site visits, toolbox talks training and creating assignment instructions. Gagan also works closely with our Nepalese cohort to ensure that all of their needs are met and that the transition from the military into ‘civvy street’ is smooth.
Shree Chochangi has worked for Vigilance for 10 years following an 18 year career in the Queen’s Gurkha Engineers. Shree joined us initially as a Security in Residence Officer, with his permanent residency being back in Nepal. This provided him with the flexibility of working without the burden of paying for accommodation whilst in the UK. Since joining, Shree has been promoted three times and is now a Support Executive, responsible for establishing new sites and conducting risk assessments. Vigilance has paid for Shree to complete a number of vocational courses including: plumbing, electrics, fire marshal, first aid and PAT Testing during his tenure.
