Netcompany understands and appreciates the challenges associated with transitioning from the military, which is what makes this opportunity different from other programmes out there. We worked directly with a number of our ex-military colleagues to create and develop this programme, one of whom is Andrew Lambert, 1Bn The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment, now Manager at Netcompany:

"In 2015, I learned that I would be medically discharged from the infantry due to knee damage sustained over 10 years. Initially overwhelmed, I spoke with my father, who served for 22 years, and saw this as an opportunity to reinvent myself. I assessed my skills and mapped them to various industries using the transition triangle equation: where to reside, salary needed, and desired career choice.

"I pursued a Project Manager role and obtained my Prince2 Foundation and Practitioner certifications, along with additional courses. After applying to a couple of jobs, I landed a Project Manager role. After six months, I left to pursue IT Project Management and joined FDM Group's ex-forces programme. During my time at FDM Group, I gained experience of working with their Public Sector clients, which included supporting a secure mobile telephone rollout for the Department for Work and Pensions, managing a cyber security operations centre build for The Home Office, and project managing the SIAM transition and ServiceNow implementation for National Highways.

"After leaving FDM Group, I started my own Limited Company to provide IT consultancy services. It was challenging but financially rewarding. After 17 months, Netcompany offered me a permanent role to manage an important strategic account, and I haven't looked back since.

"Netcompany empowered me to deliver key projects, such as England's Covid Passport, and to develop their Service leavers programme which aims to support the transition of Armed Forces members into full-time employment. The programme provides collaboration and support from veteran colleagues within the business, exposure to a variety of clients, and upskilling opportunities with access to industry-recognised certifications.’’
