Aaron Services Honour their ex-Forces Champions With more than 38 years’ experience, Aaron Services is a market leading, multi-fuel heating and hot water contractor, working almost exclusively within (domestic and commercial) social housing properties across the East of England and the Midlands.

We have an ever-growing client base and more than 52 current long-term contracts, which means we’re always on the lookout for engineers to join our busy teams.

Our Group boasts over 2,673 employees and a £275.1m turnover (year end 2022).

Honouring Our Ex-Forces Champions

We recently hosted our annual Sureserve Academy Event at the Olympic Stadium London. This all-day event is designed specifically to recognise and celebrate the learners across our business.

CTP’s very own Employer Engagement Manager, James Moore, was invited to attend the day as guest speaker - sharing the work that CTP do alongside conveying Aaron Services’ initiatives and achievements to inspire the next generation. Those activities included:

  • Achievement of the Armed Forces Covenant, Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award.
  • Formally signing up to CTP’s recruitment programme – advertising new opportunities to host work placements (training) and offer full time positions.
  • Attending CTP’s employment roadshows and webinars to support Service leavers who wish to progress a career as a heating engineer. Answering questions and promoting the nationwide opportunity within their Group.
  • Visiting CTP’s training centre, the Royal School of Military Engineering in Chatham – to understand the Service leaver journey and ensure that all placements receive the best possible support.
  • Networked at CTP’s events in London to learn from other businesses and obtain intelligence and inform their programme.
  • Created literature and provided case study examples – showcasing our personnel and nationwide opportunity.
  • Introduced a specific ex-Forces induction programme, led by feedback from other employers and their own new starters/placements.
  • Created a network of ex-Forces Champions (with networking events) to raise greater awareness across the company and provide support.
  • Increased the number of ex-Forces placements and new starters across the business.

The passion, dedication and support of our ex-Forces Champions deservedly saw them win the “Training in the Community” award for their work supporting Service leavers with training including:
  • Upskilling (i.e., apprenticeships or training)
  • Support in their existing training programmes (i.e., placements to support their gas course for example).
  • Support qualified gas engineers or electricians (who have never used those skills outside the training course or military) as new starters.
  • Support in resettlement as Service leavers transition into the civilian world.

In addition, the Group made a £500 contribution to CTP’s annual charity “Scotty’s Little Soldiers” in recognition of the support and partnership working achieved by our two companies.
