Voneus Broadband signs the Armed Forces Covenant and ramps up recruitment drive

Voneus Broadband signs the Armed Forces Covenant and ramps up recruitment drive Our goal is straightforward, to provide rural and hard-to-reach communities with ultrafast broadband. That includes homes, businesses, and complex outdoor sites.

Last year, we pledged our ongoing commitment to support the recruitment of ex-Armed Forces personnel across our business by signing the Armed Forces Covenant, and we’re proud to say that 25% of our ex-military employees have been promoted in the last 12 months.

With a rapidly growing workforce and a number of community engagement and build team roles available right now, we’re thrilled to be attending the upcoming CTP Employment Fair in Telford on the 7th February.

Come say hello on the day, and learn a bit more about why you’d be a great fit for us, and vice versa!

Why have we signed the Armed Forces Covenant?

We embrace community spirit and believe the Armed Forces Covenant exemplifies all of our core values. We felt it was a great opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to the Armed Services Community (past and present), and showcase how we can support them at Voneus.

How are we supporting the Armed Forces Covenant?

We guarantee interviews for ex-Armed Forces applicants who meet the requirements for a position at Voneus, which goes some way to explaining why 11% of our workforce is made up of Service leavers; one of whom is Martin Jackson – our Health, Safety and Facilities Manager with 27 years’ service as a Reserve Medical Support Officer.

Since joining us, Martin has been instrumental in supporting our people and acting as a champion of the Armed Forces Covenant here at Voneus.

When we spoke with him last, Martin said:

“The variety of roles at Voneus is great. We have technical, people facing, and safety positions, and we encourage any veteran of the Armed Forces to consider Voneus as an employer. We embrace the core values that the military live by, and exist to help break down barriers when it comes to rural broadband roll-out, helping and supporting communities who need connectivity the most.

"We’re problem solvers, we challenge the status quo, and we go the extra mile, literally, every single day – never losing sight of our mission to “enhance lives in rural communities.”
