Leonardo goes live on the CTP website. Today, Leonardo develops and maintains the AW159 Wildcat and AW101 Merlin helicopters flown by the British Army and Royal Navy, and are at the heart of some of the country’s most advanced defence electronics developments. These include the world-beating ECRS Mk2 radar for Royal Air Force Typhoon aircraft, and being one of the founding UK members of the Team Tempest programme, which is developing technology for the next generation global combat air system, due to go into service in 2035.

Our experts also provide through-life support for many of the UK’s military aircraft and vehicles, as well as ensuring the security and integrity of many of the UK’s most secure communications networks.

This heritage of working alongside and delivering technology for the British Armed Forces means that we offer a wide range of career opportunities to veterans, with flexible working options and relocation packages designed to support those transitioning from the Services into civilian life.

Leonardo’s commitment to supporting the Armed Forces Community saw us receive the UK MoD’s Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award in 2018, for our work in supporting reservists and the wider Armed Forces.

Our Armed Forces network group then operates across each of our seven sites to connect and support veterans, reservists and military colleagues and communities – helping new employees transition from Service to civilian life.
