Following the signing of the Armed Forces Covenant earlier this year, JTI are delighted to have been awarded the ‘Bronze’ Employer Recognition Scheme award for their support to the armed forces community.
As part of their ongoing support, on the 18th September, JTI hosted their first insights day in Surrey, in partnership with
Mission Motorsport, an armed forces motorsport charity. They welcomed service leavers and veterans to learn more about JTI and support them with finding employment.
The day was highly interactive, it included top CV tips and an interview workshop with a twist - watching a live interview with actors. Guests were given the chance to intervene and ‘direct’ the interviewee to answer the questions as best practice. They also welcomed one of LinkedIn’s experts to deliver a LinkedIn profile masterclass.
Their guests met employees, their Executive Committee team and heard from two of their ex-military employees and all were offered a CV review free of charge. They even threw in a complimentary trip to Brooklands Museum, ‘The Birthplace of British Motorsport & Aviation’, located next door to the JTI office, to finish the day!
The event received excellent feedback and due to its success JTI are looking to hold another one next year – keep an eye on the events calendar to find out more.
