Case Study:

Hear from one of our own Unit Leaders who joined us after leaving the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME), and his journey with the BES Group so far:

Lee Chapman joined us in 2017 and is a huge advocate of both our company and the Engineer Surveyor role. Like many of his colleagues, he came from a military background and with his engineering experience and constant enthusiasm, has had a huge impact on everything he does.

After serving fourteen years within the REME, Lee transitioned into the civilian world and became a Machinery Engineer Surveyor with the BES Group. Leaving a demanding and varied leadership role, it was a breath of fresh air to get his hands dirty and still enjoy some of the challenges he’d became accustomed to whilst serving in the military:

“After starting with BES Group, I didn’t immediately realise the importance and responsibility that I held to help keep people safe in their place of work, including members of the public.

"Our clients rely on us to provide them with details of any defects, damages, wear, and deterioration that could cause harm, so that any potential accidents can be prevented.

"What more can I say? Every day is a school day as an Engineer Surveyor!”

- Lee Chapman, Unit Leader
