Crypto Custodian / Security Advisor with Babcock Here at Babcock International, we're seeking a Crypto Custodian / Security Advisor to ensure Babcock DST (Mission Systems) is effective in supporting and delivering Defence outputs, while also achieving and maintaining cryptographic & security arrangements across all projects. This applies to all projects, information and assets. As a growing business with specialist security requirements, this role is key to ensuring we deliver the required security effect.

This role will primarily be responsible for discharging the duty regarding Cryptographic material held on charge, ensuring that the minimum national and departmental requirements for the secure storage and handling of Cryptographic items are applied; minimising the possibility of a breach of security. This will be achieved through the interpretation and implementation of project and contractual controls, and co-ordinating with project leads to ensure timely access. You’ll be expected to maintain all required physical / personnel and access controls, whilst also maintaining up-to-date accounting for all material held.

This Crypto Custodian / Security Advisor will also advise the business on security matters to ensure all physical / storage / personnel and access control policies are up-to-date and in line with current legislations, and will be available as part of a team to cover out of hours emergencies.

What do I need to do the role?

This Crypto Custodian / Security Advisor will have proven recent experience of managing a Cryptographic account with relevant security background, and will be capable of performing assurance activities and compliance inspections within a Mission Systems security organisation. A Crypto Custodian / Security Advisor who is fully conversant with JSP 490 / JSP 491 and JSP 440 will be required.

Lastly, you'll need…

  • Qualification of Corsham / MoD cryptographic course
  • Completed or willing to complete a range of CPNI training pathway courses
  • Knowledge of theory and practical aspects of security, as applicable to a major company serving the public sector

What else do I need to know?

The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role, which is DV.
