Who are we?
JN Bentley is a leading civil engineering and construction company. As part of the global management, engineering and development consultancy Mott MacDonald, we offer our clients full feasibility, design and construction services throughout the UK.
As a business we directly employ over 1500 people, inclusive of our large site-based weekly resource and have a predicted turnover in excess of £300 million.
The majority of our work is delivered as MMB – or Mott MacDonald Bentley. As MMB we work with more water companies in the UK than any other firm. We also have a presence in the commercial buildings sector, working for clients such as P&G, National Grid and Rolls Royce.

Care – our vision and values.
Our vision and values are centred around ‘Care’.
When we care for our people they are happy
When we take care in our work we stay safe
When we care about the bottom line we make some money.
These values underpin everything that we do as a business.

Service Leavers and Veterans
We are proud to support the UK Armed Services community, and welcome the wealth of skills, knowledge and experience they are able to bring to our business. We provide opportunities in various disciplines, with roles across civil engineering and business support roles.
We can’t do anything in this industry without people working together in great teams.
Our people are what make us an award-winning and successful business, which is why we value the unique skills, experience and knowledge that each person brings.
Each year we invest over £1 million in training and development to ensure our people achieve their potential and build a successful career with us.

“My passion for Safety started in the forces.  With flight safety the consequences of getting it wrong can be catastrophic. Making the transition to Bentley's was easy as the company ethos shares much of the same values that I'd become accustomed to.
“Values like 'commitment' to a world class safety strategy, having 'respect' for one another, 'integrity' when it comes to safety leadership, and recognising that a team of people working with a unity of purpose can walk through walls together. Some of the skills I'd developed are well suited to a QES role including assessing risk, having an attention to detail, communicating daily to a diverse group of people and being calm in a crisis, and getting up early! Bentley's recognise the value of investing in their people and providing an environment where people can thrive.”
Simon Hesketh, QES Advisor.

“I joined JNB after 10 years’ service in the British Army as a Recovery Mechanic within The Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
“The transition from the Army to JNB has been relatively easy, working within the team or by myself, good communication and planning skills are something that have been taught to me throughout my army career.  These same abilities are needed working as a Quantity Surveyor with job specific skills being taught to me by the team as we go.
The people within JNB are great, from the lads on site, the office staff, all the way up to the directors.  It feels like we are all pulling in the same direction looking for success as a team delivering sustainable projects and value for our client - the office atmosphere and regular social functions really make us feel like a tight group.”
 Thomas Smith, Quantity Surveyor.
