JOB DESCRIPTION 

AP Webb Plant Hire is a privately owned business specialising in the hiring out of bespoke plant, machinery & equipment for the rail industry. We have an exciting opportunity for a highly safety minded Plant Trainer preferably with rail experience. 

The primary purpose of this role is to drive and embed the highest level of technical skill and the highest level of safety focussed non-technical behaviours within the industry. 

The Plant Trainer will not only support the delivery of plant training but the role will also focus on creating new learning and development solutions in support of business requirements. 

YOUR BUSINESS AS USUAL WILL BE DOING ONE OR ALL OF THESE: 

  • Support the Training Manager and the training department in the delivery of training, assessment and certification of plant operators under the relevant certification scheme; CPCS, RPA, CITB and NVQ standards. 
  • Training and Assessing NVQs for plant operators, lifting operations and attachments. 
  • Oversight of competency matrix of renewal or expiry of competencies 
  • Delivering both generic and specialised plant training and assessments 
  • Development of new training material and review of all existing training/learning material and where required bring in line with the agreed standard. 
  • Attend standardisation meetings, ensuring leading quality standards are maintained and exceeded 
  • Promotion of an exemplary professional image in support of the company values and behaviours 
  • Working with other departments to identify training needs 
  • Contribute to a cohesive development plan for the business including identification of skills gaps 
  • Facilitation of assessment programmes for selection and identification of new or more expert colleagues 
  • Development of your own capabilities through continuing professional development. 
  • Prepare for audits and ensure compliance throughout. 
  • Additional duties from time to time to meet the needs of the business.
