This is a rare opportunity to join our passionate team on the beautiful coast of Newquay, Cornwall, as a fully qualified firefighter.

Event Dates: 3rd and 4th March 2023.
Who we’re looking for: Experienced firefighters in Cornwall.

What the day entails:

  • A tour of the Fire Station and facilities
  • Fitness test
  • Written exam
  • An opportunity for candidates to talk with the team about the role.
Service leavers who have operated in the fire and rescue service at military airbases will already possess most of the skills, qualifications and experience required to perform this role.

You’ll be part of a wholetime crew working shifts to provide cover for the RFFS Category 6 operation, as well as higher category upgrades including Spaceport operations where required. Aircraft types range from commercial jets, helicopters, military aircraft, private jets and light aircraft operated by the GA (General Aviation) community.



These roles are particularly suitable for those who are current aircraft fire service personnel, or who have recently retired but are still in date with their competencies.

Successful applicants will join on an initial 12-month development programme and receive all necessary training required to become a CAA qualified firefighter. You will need to be a qualified breathing apparatus wearer, have a full Class C driving licence and have worked within an aerodrome/airport fire service.
