Apr

Location: Online

Time: 12:00 - 13:00

The ADVANCE Network is the collective group of Scottish universities and colleges who have indicated they wish to be part of the network which has the aim of promoting education as a viable option to the armed forces community. ADVANCE wishes to highlight that any member of the armed forces community can consider education and will be supported to do so by the institutions who are part of the network.

Purpose of the event
The briefing session is an opportunity for participants to learn about the various opportunities for study in Further and Higher education. The session aims to break down the myths around study, highlight the various study options (online, short courses, upskilling, on campus etc), highlight the funding routes, inform about the application process, promote the support available once in uni/college and generally promote that education can be a viable option after service. There will be an opportunity for a Q&A at the end of the session to allow participants to gain information relevant to their own circumstances.

Job opportunities
By entering a college or university study route this can help service personnel to better utilize the skills and qualifications gained while in service which may open up the opportunity for a new career path after service.
