Promoting your organisation through the Focus Newsletter
Whether you are new to working with CTP or have been recruiting talented ex-Armed Forces personnel through us for many years, you will want to ensure that your brand is at the forefront of our client’s minds, and the Focus newsletter is a great way to reach Service leavers.

With over 16,000 Service leavers currently accessing CTP services and a continuing pipeline of talent leaving the Military, it is essential to consider the messaging that Service leavers receive about your organisation. Your CTP Employment Consultant can assist in supporting your recruitment and brand awareness, not only with regards to posting vacancies, but also by working with you to highlight your opportunities and organisation through our monthly Focus newsletter.

Focus is published on the CTP website at the beginning of each month and Service leavers are emailed to highlight the latest news.
Here are our top 5 tips for producing great Focus content:

  • Think about the visual, not just in terms of the images you want in your article, but also whether you can use video content. The CTP has a YouTube channel which can host your company’s videos.
  • If you are focusing on a particular recruitment campaign, do you have any success stories where Service leavers are already doing a similar job that you can share?
  • Make clear what you believe a strong application looks like. If you can give some insight in to the recruitment process that is always helpful too.
  • Don’t assume people know exactly who you are and what you do. Often companies have many areas of business that are not in the public eye so it is worth giving a short explanation of your company and what industries you relate to.
  • Talk about your organisational values and behaviours. We know that all of the companies we work with understand and respect what those who have served in the Armed Forces can bring to their organisations, but don’t forget that our clients are just as interested in what you stand for and represent in industry and the community.
