Seb Hole – BoM Configuration Manager

I joined the RAF in 1998 at the age of 16 as a survival equipment fitter, enjoying 9 yrs of service.

My time in the RAF saw me being deployed 3 times to Iraq with the Chinooks of 18 squadron and JSFAW, supporting the ground troops on Op Telic & Op Crichton. I was also deployed to Pakistan on Op Maturin in 2005 to assist with the devastating earthquake that rocked the country.

In 2006 I decided to call it a day and pursue a career with Sunseeker, I initially started as an engineer on the shop floor, fitting out the engine rooms on the 90ft yacht and the domestic systems on the 86ft yacht. Sunseeker is always offering up opportunities to develop, which I have benefitted from over the last 12 years. These promotions have expanded my understanding of the business, as they have involved me working closely with supply chain, finance, design & production.

My current role within Sunseeker is to manage a team of BoM configurators, this team is responsible for creating the Bills of Materials for our new projects, ensuring that our material delivery which ranges from £400k up to £14.5m, is in line with our production requirements. I also manage another team that are responsible for implementing our engineering changes, these changes can be initiated by design or from a supplier as a result of an improvement, defect or becoming life-ex.

I always had reservations about leaving the RAF, mainly about not being able to do sport on a Wednesday, not having an early stack on Friday and the possibility of having to work weekends. However, Sunseeker has been a great company to work for over the past 12 years and I hope there are many more great years ahead.
