Rory Waldie: From Army The Rifles to Finishing Team Leader at Sunseeker
I joined the Army in 2004 at the age of 19. Serving with 2 RGJ ( Royal Green Jackets ), 4th Battalion the Rifles and then finally finishing my military career at 6 Rifles. I left 6 Rifles in 2020 so serving 16 years in total.
I have deployed on operation to Northern Ireland and Iraq on op Telic 10 where we operated out of Basra Palace.
After leaving the military and doing all sort of jobs I was struggling to find my feet and a job I could be proud of doing. I ended up joining Sunseeker as a GRP finisher learning a new trade and job skills. I have worked up the ladder to become a Team Leader and now in charge of a small team.
But I have found that I still miss that buzz you get from serving, but luckily for me I have become an On-Call firefighter with Dorset and Wiltshire fire and rescue and the support I get off Sunseeker is amazing. I could not ask for a more supportive company.
Sunseeker is a brilliant company to work for and if you have passion for what you do then I would highly recommend Sunseeker.
