Dan Beckett – Laminator

I joined the Household Cavalry in 2009 aged 17, serving with both the ceremonial and armoured side of the regiment.

During my time as a ceremonial soldier I was on many state occasions including trooping of the colour & the royal wedding in 2011.

I then moved across to Windsor in 2013 where I went on numerous training exercises in Canada and also spent 3 months in Cyprus on the decompression team.

After serving nearly 8 years I decided to take the big step and leave, military life was no longer for me I didn’t enjoy the job anymore and I was expecting a baby with my partner I wanted to be home to help out and be a family man.

I didn’t have a clue what I wanted to do but I was able to complete my L3 ersonal training qualification through CTP.

I was lucky enough to get a job labouring immediately after leaving, but this wasn’t stable enough and the money wasn’t great I needed a job with more money, stability & career prospects, which is when I came across Sunseeker.

I joined the company in October 2017 as a laminator and I’m currently working on the 66 Flybridge, I’m really enjoying my new career choice and learning a new trade. I would recommend Sunseeker to anyone, especially service leavers, as it’s a good opportunity to start a new career, gain qualifications and earn a good wage at the same time.
