Data Center Operations Technicians
Data Center Operations Technicians areresponsible for delivering best in class services byproviding support and highest availability for theworld’s largest cloud computing infrastructure.DCTs own the full lifecycle of the physical serverinfrastructure, while also supporting the rest ofthe data center infrastructure.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of Linux
- Some experience with network protocols:TCP/IP, Ethernet, L2/L3 technologies
- Network Hardware: copper and optical fibercabling, switches, routers
Engineering Operations Technicians
EOTs are responsible for the delivery of bestpractice systems and problem resolution across all data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure.An EOT is expected to have a positiveinvolvement in both the maintenance of facilities and the improvement of efficiencies to help offer AWS customers better value.
Requirements
- Knowledge of mechanical systems (mechanical,HVAC systems, controls)
- Carrying an apprentice/trade certification or a diploma in an electrical field
Data Security Manager
A data center security manager (DSM) manages and improves site security operations at our data centers. They are responsible for managingphysical security operations, developing postorders, defining security procedures, handling site incidents, working with security equipment,participating in construction projects and driving day-to-day process improvement activities.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree
- Experience in physical security relatedOperations
- Experience of working with security guardservice providers
Network Technicians
Network Technicians work with minimumsupervision in a dynamic environment to drive the expansion of our next-generation networks.They are highly autonomous and detail oriented with significant experience of supporting large scale, enterprise class networks.They combine excellent network implementation and troubleshooting skills with a proven documentation methodology.
Requirements
- AS/BS in Computer Science; or Certification in arelevant field (CCENT, Network+, CCNA)
- 2 years of Networking Deployment experience
- Good understanding of infrastructure
Facilities Manager
Responsible for ensuring that all electrical,mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data centre is operating at peak efficiency.This involves planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response.
Requirements
- Controller status on UPS/Gens/AHU
- NFQ Trade certificate in an applicableengineering discipline.
- A degree qualification in an applicableengineering discipline
Chief Engineer
The Data Centre Facilities Manager is responsiblefor data center engineering operations within an AWS Data Center. This includes risk managementand mitigation, corrective and preventativemaintenance, vendor management and reporting.They are responsible for on-site management of shift technicians, senior shift technicians, subcontractorsand vendors, ensuring that all workperformed is in accordance with establishedpractices and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Technical (Military/ TradeSchool)
- Degree and relevant experience
- 4+ years of relevant work experience
- 2+ years of management experience
