Applying for a Role

British Airways use a variety of methods to determine the best candidate for a position – but this is always fair, objective and comprehensive. You will be assessed on the key competencies that are important for being successful in the role.

Before you apply, make sure you read the job description carefully to see whether you have the important qualities and skills for that role.

Online Application

To apply for any role in British Airways, you will need to complete an online application form. The content of this varies depending on the role, but you’ll always be asked for your personal details so we can contact you.

Application Questions may take the form of a short essay-style question, or we may ask you to answer multiple- choice questions.

Helpful Hints for Questions
  • Answer all questions honestly
  • For short-essay questions – read the question carefully and make sure you answer each one
  • Proof read your answers for grammar and spelling errors
  • Do no exceed the word limit
  • For multiple-choice questions – don’t spend too long thinking about them, but make sure you answer truthfully

Sometimes we will ask you to attach a CV.

Helpful Hints for completing your CV
  • Add a personal statement at the top of your CV, make this short and concise
  • Make sure your CV is in chronological order
  • Tailor it to reflect the role you are applying for
  • Make sure your CV is honest, accurate, up-to-date and easy to read – if it’s too long it can detract from your key skills
Before submitting you application, review what you’ve written to make sure it’s accurate and error free.

Remember to tick the box at the end of each section to say that you’ve completed it.

When you’re ready, press the submit button. – You’ll then receive an email acknowledging receipt of your application from the recruitment team.
