The Defence CIS Single Point of Contact (SPOC) was established in October 2005 and is an integral part of the ATLAS consortium. Initially in Bracknell at the Globe House service desk and then in January 2006 the service desk expanded to include its partner site in Newcastle, which is managed by HP our ATLAS consortium partners. Together they form the Single Point of Contact for all DII/F users.

The first DII/F user went live in January 2006. Since then DII/F has expanded to include sites not just throughout the United Kingdom but also worldwide. This is why the Defence CIS SPOC provides cover 24/7. The SPOC supports 650 applications across 130 Resolver Groups both internal & external to ATLAS. The SPOC forms the backbone to the ATLAS’s end 2 end support strategy to DII/F users.

The team in Bracknell consists of 79 front line telephony agents that cover core hours 0700-1900 Monday to Sunday on a rotational basis. The agents provide assistance to all DII/F related enquiries ranging from faults reporting to the more simple “how do I” questions. A specific out of hours team cover the hours of 19:00-07:00. This is a challenging and fast paced team of agents but sets the basis for their future career development within Fujitsu and the IT industry.
