About px Group

Capability

The px group is a fully integrated infrastructure solutions business that delivers improved operating performance of commercial and industrial facilities through a strategic divisional structure focused upon three key delivery areas -Engineering Consultancy, Operations and Maintenance and Energy Trading. Operating on a 24 hour, 7 days a week basis requires professionalism and competence of the highest order coupled with a safety and environmentally conscious mind-set to deliver operational excellence.

This capability has been shaped by a strong (25 years) history in managing, operating and maintaining some of the UK’s largest industrial facilities including one of the largest and most strategic gas processing facilities.

People

The px group currently comprises approximately 900 people. A large percentage of our employees are engaged directly in O&M delivery, working at our operational sites. However, we also employ significant trading and business support teams (finance, information and communication technology, human resources, business development, etc.) who can offer a range of additional services to our clients.

px has a proud history of supporting and developing apprentices. In 2015 px increased its apprenticeship support, taking on four new apprentices in addition to the two it already sponsored. In 2016 px took on a further process apprentice at its Inver Terminal and will increase its commitment still further at the St. Fergus Terminal.

Safety

px is committed to world class standards of safety and environmental control and avoiding all cases of workplace ill health, injuries and incidents, including damage to the environment. This is achieved by the creation of working conditions that encourage positive attitudes and contributions from all personnel. px and its people have operated, maintained and managed Teesside Gas Processing Plant (TGPP), a top tier COMAH site, for 25 years. Amongst other awards, TGPP has been awarded the RoSPA gold award for 17 consecutive years and in 2010 it achieved a Sector Award in the oil and gas industry category. The high SHE standards demanded at this site are reflected throughout the px business and at each operational site.

Recent projects

px has recently secured a major contract with MGT Teesside Limited. px will supply owner’s engineering (OE) and project management services, as the world’s largest new-build biomass combined heat and power (CHP) station is constructed and commissioned.

This deal follows the agreement with North Sea Midstream Partners (NSMP), secured in March 2016, to process gas at the St. Fergus Terminal in Aberdeenshire.
