From Corporal to Income Coordinator

Tell us briefly about your career so far

I was in the Royal Logistics Corp in the Armed Forces employed as a driver for 7 years. Throughout my career I had different job roles - soldier first as well as driver, transport manager and team leader. I now work in Devon and Cornwall housing now at LiveWest as a income coordinator, I have worked here for about 6 weeks so far!

In your civilian role, what training, experience and/or qualification gained while serving have you found most useful?

The confidence the Armed Forces give you has helped me most

When you left the service life, how did you choose your civilian career?

I applied online for numerous job roles to try to find the right career path.

What obstacles did you have to overcome and how did you overcome them?

The transition understanding civilian life.

What advice would you give other service leavers?

Be confident in your interviews and within the work environment. Remember it is not the same as military life, and remember you have completed harder tasks within military life.
