Leonardo Tips and Advice

At Leonardo we are committed to creating a working environment that is designed to provide everyone with the opportunity to succeed.  We want to hear about you; your achievements and what you can bring.

Presenting you and your experience:
Top tip is to be precise, as much as we enjoy finding out about potential candidates think about the role you are applying for and align your skills and experience to the role.  Make it easy for the Hiring Manager to decide you are the best candidate they can select for the role.   Sell yourself but be modest, think how you can stand out by sharing your achievements and successes but more importantly emphasise the transferable skills you can bring.

Application Process:
Our candidate area will ask you to create an account, this is how we can communicate with you throughout the process, we hope this makes you feel connected and part of the team.

Security Clearance:
Due to the nature of our business; some of our roles require you to be capable of achieving full SC security clearance and may require access to caveated information such as UK eyes only. For more information on SC, see the gov.uk website.

Can’t find the right job for you:
Don’t worry, we continually review our resource requirements across the UK and new roles become available all the time.  You can set up a job alert on our careers page where we will notify you of any new roles we think you may be interested in – never miss out on that important job!

Interview Prep
Review the company website and enhance your knowledge as much as possible, where are we present, who are our end customers, what is important to us i.e. sustainability, corporate social responsibility.  What is our mission and values, how do your own personal values align to us.  Read some of our employee profiles, speak to anyone you know who works for us; follow us through our social media platforms.  You can find out about us many ways.
We carry out Competency Based Interviews (CBI), to help you prepare we suggest you make yourself aware of the BACK model:

Background What was the situation and what was your goal?

Action What action did you take?
Consequence What was the outcome / end result?
Knowledge What feedback was received / how was the success measured? What did you learn from this experience / Is there anything you would do differently?

We will ask you a question similar to “tell us about a time where you implemented a new idea?”
We want to know about you, what did you do, how did you approach the situation, what was the outcome, what would you do differently.  It’s all about you, It’s your time to shine
