There aren’t many jobs where you go home each day knowing you have made a real difference to a child’s life. Teachers are encouraged to think of creative ways to engage their students and you’ll be able to use your experience to help bring your subject to life.
Here are 5 reasons why you should consider teaching and some information about where to start.
1. Use your skills and experience
Being a teacher means being able to use your skills, and share your knowledge, expertise and passion for your subject.
Think about your existing skills - communication, organisation, leadership and management skills, creativity, innovation and the ability to work under pressure are all transferable to the classroom and highly valued by the teaching profession.
2. Make a difference and give back to your community
Teaching allows you to contribute to your community in a meaningful way and is one of the most direct ways to make an impact.
As a teacher, you’ll have an important part to play in shaping the next generation. You’ll have the opportunity to be a role model, developing your students’ talents, maximising their potential and enabling them to achieve things they never thought they could.
