Barclays <br\>Tips and Advice

I’d like to work for Barclays, what next?

Take a look at the Barclays careers page – its designed so you can search for roles based on different parameters, Some roles are uploaded direct to the CTP.

Before you apply we’d encourage you to use all the resources on our MVO website (and others at your disposal such as speaking to people you know who work at Barclays) to find out more about Barclays and the role you’re applying for.

If you haven’t already signed up to VETS its advisable you sign up and find a mentor who has relevant experience based on the area you are looking to join, ask for their advice on the area they work in and its advisable you share with them your CV.

Application

While the application process will vary slightly depending on the role you’re applying for, there are some constants. Applications for our vacancies are typically made online (and may include an online application form).

On the application form we ask for information like your contact details, education and work experience.

You will be required to upload a CV, so it’s a good idea to have this ready.

If you have applied for a role through the Barclays Careers site, you should Email the AFTER team so they are aware you have applied and they can monitor your application internally.

Assessment

Assessments happens in two phases, the first is the CV assessment then if successful the candidate is moved to the interview phase.

Interviews differ significantly depending on the role, some roles may have numerous interviews and or additional assessments.

The whole application and assessment can move slowly sometimes taking several months so don’t worry if you don’t hear back from the assessors reference your application or follow up interviews.
