One of our engineers, Andrew McCabe shares his experiences of transitioning from the navy to CMS:
"I left the Royal Navy in March 2022 as a Marine Engineer. A daunting process at first, especially with a year-long notice period.
"I found all my skills were transferable into my new role at CMSL, as I was given the freedom to run my own days, weeks and months with the PPMs and reactive works in front of me. I was also allowed to be proactive and create my own work for the betterment of the clients’ sites, which gave me a substantial amount of job satisfaction.
"I like to think of building services in the same way as a naval ship - a floating building with power and distribution throughout, along with pumps, motors, and air conditioning. This made for an easier transition for me, especially as the maintenance system used in the navy is quite similar to our CAFM system.
"The support and knowledge I've gained from CMSL has been excellent and everyone welcomed me with open arms - making the transition that bit easier."
