“BNY Mellon is committed to supporting servicemen and women who are resettling from the UK Armed Forces. We believe Service leavers represent a unique and high-performing talent pool and we recognise the highly sought after transferable skills, proven in difficult real world situations.
BNY Mellon has been working with the CTP since 2012 to develop work placements for Service leavers. The six-week programme is designed to provide individuals currently serving in the military, with a rewarding experience that will assist in their transition to civilian employment.
The programme allows participants to leverage their skills, broaden knowledge and gain valuable firsthand financial services sector experience. Throughout the work placement participants are supported through structured training and development whilst working on core projects within their chosen business area.
The 2013 programme followed the success of BNY Mellon's inaugural programme in 2012. Whilst there is no promise of employment at the end of the programme, 6 of the 13 participants in the 2012 programme were subsequently hired by BNY Mellon.
During 2013, Service leavers took up their placements in a variety of roles from Analyst to HR, Marketing and Project Management at offices in London, Manchester and Edinburgh.”
