This qualification is a progression from the CTP’s Security Supervisor course and is suitable for those who have been involved in operational security management and would like to extend their knowledge base to enable them to practice  commercially .

This course has been created for operational security personnel who have experience and an understanding of security operations but would like to extend their knowledge base to enhance commercial career prospects.

Is this the right course for me?

This course is right for you is if you are planning to gain employment in a management position within the security sector as it will provide the commercial understanding. It is a largely theoretical course which builds on your practical experience. There is a significant amount of reading required during the course therefore candidates should be prepared to put the effort in to gain a pass.

NOCN Level 3 Award in Security Operations

Eligibility

It is recommended that Service leavers attain their SIA licences prior to attendance but this is not mandatory. There are no set pre-requisites; however, to quote NOCN, learners need to:
  • Produce extended answers that are clear, logical and understandable
  • Read and/or interpret given tasks
  • Organise relevant information clearly and coherently
  • Make decisions based on underpinning knowledge
  • Communicate (both orally and in writing) in English

  • Full course cost is paid in Module 1

Course Content

There are 4 mandatory units of study which make up the NOCN Level 3 Award in Security Operations and these are:

  • Security Health & Safety
  • Physical Security Operations and Management
  • Information and Personnel Security and Management
  • Private Security and the Law
