Achieving the Level 3 Award in Education and Training will provide sufficient evidence that the learner has obtained the necessary skills and knowledge to prepare, plan, deliver and evaluate basic teaching and learning sessions in a variety of teaching or training contexts.

Eligibility

The course is open to all Service personnel. It is particularly suitable for those planning a second career in adult FE education or commercial training.

Fees & Funding

  • Full course cost is paid in Module 1

Course Content

The course aims to develop confidence and competence in teaching people over the age of 16, giving them the opportunity to:

  • Develop knowledge related to teaching and learning
  • Develop skills in teaching and learning
  • Achieve a nationally recognised Level 3 qualification
  • Develop their own personal growth and engagement in teaching and learning.

You will be assessed throughout the course by a mixture of short theoretical and practical tasks.

Career Opportunities

These qualifications can lead to successful candidates gaining positions in the Further Education environment and with commercial training organisations. Those who have previous experience as a trainer would greatly benefit from having this industry recognised qualification.  You may also consider attending the CTP NVQ Assessor course which on successful completion provides the Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment (previously the A1 Award).  Combining both these qualifications would open up further opportunities in training and assessing vocational achievement.
