Health and Safety Lead Auditor OHSMS ISO45001Eligibility
There are no mandatory pre requisites for this course but an underpinning knowledge of the Health & Safety at Work Act and the principle underpinning regulations is strongly recommended. Previous completion of NEBOSH or IOSH courses would be advantageous.Students should have the necessary numeracy/written/ verbal communication skills to complete the course.
Finally, it is imperative that potential students note that individual demands of this course are commensurate with the level of study – this is a Level 3 qualification. Course members will be required to commit themselves to an intensive period of study, which is demanding of their time and energy.
Course Content
This course is delivered over a period of 5 days and the following subject areas are taught:
- Occupational Health & Safety Awareness
- Emergency preparedness
- Occupational Health & Safety Policy Statement
- Auditor skills and registration
- Overview of Health and Safety legislative requirements
- Auditing techniques
- Risk Assessment Methods (including HAZOP & HAZAN)
- Audit case study and role-play
- Roles and Responsibilities of auditors and audit leaders
- Non-conformity categorisation and reporting
- Audit planning, execution, reporting and follow-up
Candidates successfully completing the course, including the examination, will be awarded IRCA registered certificate for OHSMS Lead Auditor.
EXAM INFORMATION
The Lead Auditor OHSMS ISO 45001 exam is 1 hour 40 minutes and will take place AFTER the course at any point within 30 days. An extra 30 mins is provided for those who have submitted evidence of dyslexia, or where English is not your first language.
You will be provided with a Unique Learner ID from CQI during the course and this will give you access to the online portal which has practice exam questions and a link to complete the actual exam.
You will require access to a laptop or PC with a webcam and microphone, which will allow access to EasyProctor to complete your exam.
The exam will be open book and questions will be a mix of multiple choice, multiple response, fill in the blanks, matching items and sequencing responses in the correct order.
The last 2 exam sections will include scenario questions relating to conducting, reporting on and closing out audits. You will be asked to evaluate the scenario presented to you and select the correct course of action.
Results will be available within one month and those successful will be sent Certificates through CTP within 6 weeks of course completion.

Career Opportunities
Successful completion of this course (including an exam mark of 50% or over) satisfies the training requirements for anyone wishing to register as an Auditor with the IRCA.There are many UK-wide opportunities available for ISO 45001 Auditors.
