This is an ideal course for those with a keen interest in IT and a solid practical knowledge of networking and security, who are seeking a future role within the ever expanding area of Cyber Security. This course is not suitable for new entrants without a foundation knowledge of networking and security.

The CySA+ course has been developed by CompTIA, based on content and feedback from Industry and leading IT Security Experts. This certification applies behavioural analytics  to networks and devices to prevent, detect and combat Cyber security threats.

Attendees will learn to:

  • Perform data analysis and interpret results to identify any vulnerabilities, threats or risks to an organisation
  • Configure and use threat detection tools
  • Secure and protect applications and systems within an organisation

This is a hands on practical instructor led training course with access to CompTIA Certmaster Learn & Labs  to give attendees the practical skills and knowledge to detect threats and secure systems in the workplace.

Eligibility

This is an Intermediate Level 3/4 course and attendees should have completed the 
CompTIA Network+ and Security+ in advance of attending the course, or alternatively have gained equivalent IT networking and  information security knowledge and practical skills through several years of experience gained in information security.

Course Content

This 5 day classroom based course is very much a 'hands on' approach focussing on IT Security Analytics, and will cover the following:

Threat Management 
Learn to apply environmental research techniques using appropriate tools, analysing results and implementing a recommended response

Vulnerability Management 
Implement a vulnerability process and analyse results of the scan 

Security Architecture & Tool Sets
Use of data to recommend remediation of security issues related to identity and access management.
use application security best practices to recommend an implementation strategy while participating in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Cyber-Incident Response 
With the use of data, distinguish the threat and determine the incident impact
Prepare a toolkit with appropriate forensics tools, a communication strategy and best practices as a response.

Attendees will complete the 5 day course within our modern IT suites with dual screens at the Resettlement Training Centre Aldershot, with attendees gaining hands on experience throughout the course.

For those courses delivered fully online by Virtual Classroom, it is recommended that attendees have access to 2 screens to complete training.

Questions:Up to 85 - Both multiple choice and performance based questions
Pass mark: 750 ( on a score of 100 - 900)
