This course is for anyone wanting to participate in projects of all sizes.This course is not an introductory/entry-level qualification and so you'll typically have some pre-existing project management knowledge.
This course is Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) level 4 / Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SQCF) level 7– indicative of first year degree level content.
As a Service Leaver you may not have been working formally in project management, yet you are likely to have experience in many elements of it, such as planning, organisation, & communication. Have a look at the information on the APM webpage and in particular watch the 2min video “What is project management?” to find out more.
CTP also offer a 10 day classroom based APM PMQ course here, with the course training delivered over 7 days followed by 3 days of exam preparation and practice, enabling you to become familiar with the style of the exam.

You will be provided with some pre-reading to help prepare for your course. Please ensure this is completed in full.
This is an intensive course and training will take place over 5 days, with attendees completing the PMQ exam online from any location on the Monday after the training is completed, having a weekend to study and prepare for the exam.
For anyone with limited experience, or wanting a more relaxed pace, our 10 day APM Project Management Qualification here will provide extended training to ensure you gain the subject knowledge and terminology to succeed in a future role.
Your course itself will consist of: formal knowledge sessions, exercises, mock exam questions, discussions, group work, individual work, and evening work (approx. 1-2 hours most evenings). Please make sure you can dedicate the time to both attending the course and any evening work. Your tutor will provide you will full details of what you need to do.
Some details about your PMQ exam:
• 3 hours 15 minutes duration
• Short essay-style questions
• Choose 10 questions from 16
• Each question is worth 50 marks, so 500 marks in total
• Pass mark is 275 (55%)
• Closed-book
You will be able to take your APM PMQ exam from home if you have a pc or laptop with a webcam and microphone. Please note; a tablet/iPad will not be suitable for completing the exam.
You will also need a mobile phone or tablet with a camera for dual camera monitoring. You will need to show ID.

Virtual Classroom courses:
Training will take place via Webex and further online details and system requirements are available here which will enable you to check that your IT meets the minimum requirements to use webex.
Attendees will receive comprehensive study materials by post in advance of the course.
Course Manuals for Overseas Service Leavers attending virtual classroom courses - Due to the size and weight of course manuals and other reading materials, all Service leavers attending virtual training from overseas will be emailed electronic copies of materials in advance of the course.
It would be helpful if you have dual screens to refer to these during the course.
Please note that due to copyright, these materials cannot be printed. If you would prefer course materials to be posted, this can be arranged at an additional cost of £40.
