Aim of the Course 
This course is designed for Service leavers wishing for a career in the training & education industry. The NVQ Assessors qualification is a Level 3 qualification that will allow practitioners to assess occupational competence in the work environment, whilst the PTLLS is a qualification that will equip a wide range of trainers, facilitators and teachers to support learners.

Course Content 
Service Leavers completing the course will gain:

The NVQ Assessors qualification which will allow practitioners (upon successful completion) to assess occupational competence in a work environment.

Each Candidate will be provided with a portfolio containing sample documentation relating directly to the awarding body standards. Throughout the duration of the programme every candidate portfolio will be sampled by the Internal Verifier

The PTLLS part of the course aims to develop confidence and competence in teaching people over the age of 16. You will be assessed throughout the course by a mixture of short theoretical and practical tasks.

Significant out of hours work may be required.

This combined course delivers two separate qualifications so there may be times when two trainers are used in the overall delivery.

Qualifications Awarded 
Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment (previously the A1 Award).

Unit 1: Understanding the principles and practices of assessment.
Unit 2: Assess occupational competence in the work environment 
    City & Guilds 7303 (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector).

Employment Opportunities 
These qualifications should enable successful candidates to apply for positions in the Further Education environment and with civilian training establishments.

If this is not possible or the alternative(s) is/are not acceptable to the Service leaver, Right Management, who deliver all non-contract courses listed, may refund in full the total amount paid to date for non-contract funded courses, or, in the case of MOD Contract Funded courses, in agreement with the MOD, the Service leavers IRTC grant will not be notionally reduced.
