This course complements the Introduction to Electrical Installation, successful completion will enable Service leavers to work as Domestic Electrical Installers and provisionally register with a Part P Competence Scheme Provider eg NAPIT.

Course Content
The course covers CITB Full Scope, Level 3 Building Regulations and Level 3 17th Edition Wiring Regulations.

The details for access to C&G SmartScreen will be included with Joining Instructions; your chances of success on the course will be improved if you complete the on-line training.

Unless you already have a Domestic Electrical qualification and knowledge of Building Regulations, then you must attend the CTP’s Introduction to Electrical Installation course.

Applicants for the Full Scope course will be expected to have already trained in ‘Defined Scope’ and be able to undertake the following CITB tests during the Full Scope course with no tuition:

C1 – Electrical Systems
C2 - Electrical health and Safety
C4 – Building Regulations (including Part P).

If you are not familiar with the term ’Defined Scope’ then you need to attend the Defined Scope course. Exceptionally, you may have enough knowledge. If anyone is unsure about their ability to do this they should contact the Engineering Department via [email protected]

Employment Opportunities
This course provides the foundation for those wishing to work in the electrical industry and further training will be necessary to gain sufficient qualifications to do so.

The Electrical Contractors Association (ECA) website www.eca.co.uk provides a list of ECA members and their contact details.

A calculator, coloured pens, page markers and highlighters will be required. Two passport sized photographs and your National Insurance Number are also necessary to register with CITB for those who have not already done so.

Students must purchase the required literature prior to starting this course. A list of books required for each course will be provided. Books from the RTC can be purchased on the first morning of the course but if you wish to purchase prior to attendance they are also available from good bookshops or from the publications department of the IET (Tel No: 01438 767328).
