The workshop views retirement as an active stage in career development and equips participants to plan retirement and make informed choices. Service leavers (and partners if wished) of any rank who do not intend to engage in full time employment following discharge, but wish to remain active and take full advantage of the opportunities offered by full or semi-retirement.


After completing this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Be aware of the implications of change and assess their needs in retirement
  • Think creatively and positively about the new opportunities presented by retirement
  • Manage their affairs outside of the full time employment environment
  • Plan for the future
