What does it mean to be self-employed?

Self-Employment Awareness: A workshop for Service leavers exploring the idea of self-employment.

CTP is pleased to announce that we will be offering a new one day Self Employment Awareness Workshop as part of the resettlement programme. The workshop will be delivered in association with X Forces, a social enterprise who are active in supporting the military community.

The programme launches in January in resettlement centres across the UK and is available for booking here.

The workshop will provide an introduction to all aspects of starting your own business, and help you to discover the key segments of running a business and plan your next steps.

Who is the workshop for?

• This workshop is an opportunity to learn about what it takes to be self-employed, and explore if it is right for YOU.
• Whether you have a business idea, or are just exploring the possibility of working for yourself, this course is for you!

What will I receive from the workshop?

• Experienced tutors with knowledge of military and self-employment
• Case Studies of Service leavers who have gone on to start successful businesses
• An understanding of the personal and professional requirements of starting your own business
• Understanding your survival budget and how this fits into financial planning
• Confidence in your decision to choose to be self-employed, or employed, awareness of the needs of a business will support your success in both.

• A calendar of coaching and networking events run by X-Forces will be available to you
• Courses are available through the CTP to explore your business idea in more depth
