From Royal Marines Commando to Trainee Assistant Site Manager

Kage's Story
Kage Brennan, 23, is a trainee assistant site manager for Persimmon Homes South Coast at its Picket 20 development in Andover.

Kage joined the company in February 2014, after a four year career in the Army.

The former Royal Marines Commando, from Portsmouth, served in Afghanistan for seven months at the end of 2012, as well as being based at Taunton in Somerset, Poole in Dorset and Lympstone in Devon.

Kage said: “If I hadn’t gone into the Royal Marines, I would have looked for a career in the construction industry, so when I decided to leave the army, it seemed like the obvious career choice.

“There are many similarities between the two; you have to be organised and be good at dealing with people. And the army gave me a taste of the importance of the chain of command role.

“I’m really enjoying working for Persimmon and learning so much. I hope that I can take my career all the way to site manager.”
