Resettlement Guides


There are a number of Welfare and Ex-Services organisations that exist to provide a range of assistance to ex-Service personnel. This Resettlement guide will assist you on how to get in touch with these organisations now or at any time post-discharge, should the need arise. There are many other charities available of a more general nature for both Service Leavers and Civilians. A full list of these can be found on the Charity Choice website


ABF THE SOLDIERS' CHARITY

The charity provides timely practical and financial support to four generations of Army families, the physically disabled, the mentally ill, the homeless, the unemployed and the elderly.

FORCES PENSION SOCIETY

The Forces Pension Society is an independent, not-for-profit membership funded organisation that acts as a pension watchdog for the whole military community.

FPS guides its members on the technical aspects of their Armed Forces Pension, campaigns against any injustices in the policy provision or mal-administration of Armed Forces Pensions and educates the Armed Forces community on all pension matters.

OFFICERS' ASSOCIATION SCOTLAND

The Officers’ Association Scotland offers job finding assistance to ex-officers living in Scotland. They also offer benevolence support to ex-officers, their spouses and dependents who reside in Scotland.

The RAF Association (RAFA) provides comradeship, welfare and care for current and former members of the RAF.

THE ROYAL AIR FORCE BENEVOLENT FUND

The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund exists to provide assistance to those of the extended Royal Air Force Family who need support as a consequence of poverty, sickness, disability, accident, infirmity or other adversity.

The White Ensign Association is a Naval charity providing guidance on personal administration and finance to all Service and ex-Service personnel of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines, and their Reserves

WOMEN'S ROYAL NAVAL SERVICE BENEVOLENT TRUST

The WRNS BT [Registered Charity] was founded to help the women who served in the Women's Royal Naval Service.

The primary objective of the Trust is to provide relief in cases of necessity or distress among its members and their dependents. The Trust is also empowered, in suitable cases, to make grants for the education and training of members.

SEA CADETS

Pass on the skills that you have learnt in your career to the next generation! Sea Cadets is a national youth charity offering nautical adventure based on the customs and traditions of the Royal Navy, like honesty & integrity, self-discipline, commitment, respect and loyalty. We have 14,000 young people aged 10 – 18 across the UK learning how to sail, kayak and row, gaining qualifications in marine engineering, catering and first aid. We are looking for people like you who are happy to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in!
