The Logistics Sector is a critical enabler for success across all business Sectors and employs 2.7 Million staff across the wider Logistics Industry in the UK (FTA Logistics report 2019). There is also an aging workforce and this is due to a lack of new talent entering the industry as young people have been attracted to other sectors and roles, in addition to this the evolution of technology means that the industry workforce requirements constantly evolves, which ultimately means that many technical and specialist opportunities continue to be available.
Whilst the UK faces change and uncertainty the Logistics Sector is in the spot light and will be expected to drive the evolution of any changes to regulations relating to import/export of goods. Skills such as resilience, risk, change and operations management will prove to be significant requirements for management roles over the next few years. These are also skills that many Service leavers have in abundance, CTP also delivers a number of courses such as Management of Risk and Change Management which provides certification from APMG.
